AdblockElite is a free Chrome extension that blocks ads, trackers, and online annoyances so you can browse the web without interruption. How does it work?
AdblockElite uses curated filter lists to identify and block unwanted network requests before they reach your browser. Instead of processing each request through JavaScript, the extension compiles its rules into Chrome's native declarativeNetRequest format. Blocking decisions happen inside the browser engine itself — with zero JavaScript overhead per request.
In addition to network-level blocking, AdblockElite performs cosmetic filtering — hiding leftover ad containers and empty placeholder elements that remain after a network request has been blocked. The result is clean, uncluttered pages.
